Our Commitment
We want you to be genuinely happy with N-glish. Before you pay anything, we offer a free trial of 20 conversation minutes — no payment method required — so you can experience the service and decide whether it is right for you before committing to a subscription.
If something still goes wrong after you subscribe, this Policy explains when and how you can request a refund.
1. Free Trial
The free trial (20 minutes of conversation) requires no payment method and carries no charge — there is nothing to refund.
2. Refund Window
You may request a refund within 14 days of your first subscription payment, provided you have not substantially used the service during that billing period. We define "substantial use" as having used more than 20% of your monthly practice-minute allowance.
This threshold exists because the service uses paid AI and voice-processing that incurs real cost the moment you practice. The free trial is specifically designed to let you evaluate N-glish before paying, so refunds after meaningful usage are generally not available.
Subsequent monthly renewals are non-refundable — by renewing, you have already experienced the service and chosen to continue. If something goes wrong with a renewal charge (error, duplicate, or charge after cancellation), see Section 7.
In summary for your first payment:
- Requested within 14 days and fewer than 20% of minutes used → refund generally approved.
- Requested within 14 days but more than 20% of minutes used → refund generally not available (significant usage has already occurred).
- Requested after 14 days → refund not available, except as required by mandatory consumer-protection law (see Section 6).
3. Digital Content & Immediate Consumption
N-glish is a cloud-based service: practice minutes are consumed immediately as you use them, and the underlying AI and voice-processing costs are incurred at that moment. Once you have significantly used your monthly minute allowance, that billing period is generally non-refundable because the cost of delivering the service has already been incurred.
4. Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings, which opens our payment provider's customer portal. Cancellation stops future billing but does not automatically refund the current billing period — you keep access to your remaining minutes until the end of the period you already paid for.
If you cancel within the 14-day refund window on your first payment and have not substantially used the service, you may also request a refund (see Section 5).
5. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, follow these steps:
- Email us at support@n-glish.com within 14 days of the charge you are disputing.
- Include the email address on your account, the approximate date of the charge, and a brief reason for your request.
- We will review your request (including your usage for that period) and respond within 5 business days.
- If approved, we will submit the refund through our payment provider, our Merchant of Record, who will process the refund back to your original payment method in accordance with its own buyer terms.
Refunds are issued by our payment provider — we cannot bypass their processes to issue refunds directly. The time it takes for the money to appear in your account depends on your payment provider or bank and is outside our control; typically 5–10 business days after the refund is processed.
6. Consumer Rights (EU, UK & Other Regions)
Customers in certain regions — including the European Union and United Kingdom — may have additional statutory rights under consumer-protection law, such as a right of withdrawal for digital content purchases. We respect all rights you have under the law that applies to you; nothing in this Policy overrides or excludes any right you cannot waive by contract.
Please note: under EU/UK digital-content rules, if you explicitly consent to immediate access to digital content and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is lost upon the service beginning, your statutory withdrawal right may no longer apply once you have started using the service. By beginning a practice conversation on a paid plan, you acknowledge you are requesting immediate delivery of the digital service. If you have questions about your statutory rights, contact us or seek independent legal advice.
7. Billing Errors & Duplicate Charges
If you believe you were charged in error, charged twice, or charged after a successful cancellation, contact us and we will investigate and issue a refund where warranted. These requests are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact support@n-glish.com.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. See also our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
